Entry 2: Bloom - Necry Talkie
For my second entry I chose the music video for Bloom by Necry Talkie, one of my favorite Japanese bands. I have been listening to their music for years and this past summer when I was in Japan I took the Shinkansen all the way to Kobe to see them in concert for their tour for their then new album Torch (which this song is from). It was an amazing experience I will never forget.
Bloom is one of my favorite songs on the album, especially as it was featured as the opening song for the Netflix anime Scott Pilgrim Takes Off, based on the Scott Pilgrim movie and comics which I also love. The video itself makes a lot of references to Scott Pilgrim with the many little graphics qand video game homages that are a staple in the franchise. Overall, I highly recommend listening to Necry Talkie as well as watching the Scott Pilgrim movie and show (movie first so you get more context for the show).
